Dr. Robertson received his undergraduate education at Tennessee Technological University graduating Magna Cum Laude. He attended dental school at the University of Tennessee Medical campus in Memphis, graduating in 1975 with honors.
After spending two years serving in the Air Force in South Dakota, he entered private practice in Nashville.
Dr. Robertson is actively involved in several professional and community organizations. He has been a board member at the Bellevue YMCA for three years, and recently concluded five years on the board of the Bellevue Chamber of Commerce including his term as Chamber President in 2008.
